Dailuaine 2013

A favorite among Whiskey lovers is Dailuaine! We find the distillery in central Speyside where it has been since 1852 and is renowned for its complex, powerful and mature style. Finally aged in an active ex-Tawny port cask which is expected to give us ripe, dried fruit with caramel notes.

Dailuaine is a full-bodied single malt that is rarely seen bottled. This cask gave us an opportunity to experiment a bit which resulted in the aforementioned ex-Tawny cask which was allowed to store the whiskey for a good 2 years. It gave us a whiskey that offers dried fruit, fudge, butterscotch and caramel. In the finish we find dates, crème brulee and leather.
